The San Francisco Museum of Craft+Design is located at 550 Sutter Street, between Powell and Mason, in the heart of one of San Francisco’s prime arts and shopping districts. Just blocks away from Union Square, we are neighbors to a wonderfully eclectic variety of art galleries, cool hotels, and chic restaurants.
The Museum building itself is part of the colorful heritage of this area. A prestigious art and antiques store in its early years in the ‘20s, it became home to famed designer Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Salon—and the woman herself!—in the ‘50s and ‘60s. Today, we are proud that our building continues the legacy of showcasing objects of visual delight and sensation to our visitors.
